Karl Towns Jr. had several good performances in the high school All-Star game circuit, showing his potential as a jump shooting big.
“There’s no other big man here that I’ve seen who is quite like him. With that size, to already be able to shoot it to the NBA arc, he’s going to be a major asset for somebody.”
Towns is a Kentucky recruit.
Dakari Johnson will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season.
Johnson averaged 5.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 14.1 minutes per game as a freshman out of Montverde Academy.
Alex Poythress will return to Kentucky for his junior season.
Poythress averaged 11.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in 25.8 minutes per game as a freshman and 5.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 18.4 minutes as a sophomore.
Julius Randle officially announced he will declare for the NBA Draft in June.
Randle will forgo his sophomore season.
As a freshman, Randle averaged 14.8 points and 10.4 rebounds in 40 games.
Andrew and Aaron Harrison are continuing to weigh their options about returning to Kentucky for their sophomore season or leaving for the NBA.
The Harrisons are waiting for feedback from the NBA before reaching a decision.
“I just sent the paperwork in two or three days ago,” Aaron Harrison Sr told Fox 26. “I talked to a gentleman at the NBA and he said he would get it to me as fast as possible and then we’ll go from there.
“It’s important. You’re trying to find out what the prospects are for them and where they’ll be drafted and all those things.”
“It’s basically my career really,” Aaron said. “Don’t leave anything out. Think about all the angles and everything that goes into it and just try to make the best choice for your family.”
“It’s tough,” Andrew added. “You got to keep praying on it and just keep talking with your family and see what’s the best thing for you and your family.”
Marcus Lee announced Friday that he will return to the University of Kentucky for his sophomore season.
"I've really enjoyed my college experience and I'm looking forward to continuing to develop as an all-around player," Lee said. "Playing in the Final Four was such an amazing feeling, but I want to come back and help win that final game this year."
Lee was named to the Midwest Regional All-Tournament team in his freshman season.
James Young will leave Kentucky for the NBA Draft.
Young averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in his lone season with the Wildcats.
Young was an NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team selection and a Second Team All-SEC.
Willie Cauley-Stein will return to Kentucky for his junior season despite being a projected first round pick if he had declared.
Cauley-Stein averaged 6.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks in 23.8 minutes per game.
Cauley-Stein was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team.
Julius Randle will leave Kentucky after one season, multiple sources told ESPN.
Randle disputed the report on Twitter on Wednesday.
Randle is a virtual lock to be a top-10 selection and could go in the top-5.
